Description

Colorist generated HDR L2 trim metadata is not required for every shot. However, a large number of shots without L2 values may trigger unwanted QC scrutiny. DaVinci Resolve Studio does not automatically fill in the L2 metadata for untrimmed shots.

L2 Generator populates any missing L2 metadata with nominal or imperceptibly small random values. It supports the V2.9 XML metadata.

L2 Generator also works as a limited graphical user interface for the Metafier command line tool (Metafier not included). It can validate a leading HDR technology V2.9 and V4.0 XML metadata files.

M1/M2 Macs require Rosetta mode. The legacy application may not launch on newer macOS. The Linux and Windows versions are unaffected. Support is not available for the macOS version.
